Fun Size Farm

Join us as we take you step by step through our journey in urban farming. We are starting from scratch. If we can do it, so can you. We have a boatload of kids that are involved in a hundred activities. So, don't let that be your excuse as to why you cannot accomplish your to do list. Live close to your food. Hopefully you can find lots of it in your own backyard. That is our goal, and hopefully we will all learn a few things as we go!

We begin our chicken coop

First, we figured out the number of chickens we should have to provide the amount of eggs we need. Then we calculated the square footage based on number of chickens. So, we found a fairly level spot in the yard and laid out the patio risers and rim joists. This looked like a good spot, some shade, some sun.
